Practical Work 4B: Dropbox:
Dropbox
is a file hosting service operated by Dropbox, Inc. that offers cloud storage,
file synchronization, and client software.
The main goal of this practical work is to learn about Dropbox, to
access files from your PC, your Tablet, your Smartphone, etc. With Dropbox you
can storage files, share files, and have a backup on the cloud.
First
thing you should do is to install Dropbox on your PC (if you are not
registered), then you may access through the web. Dropbox keeps a local copy of
the storage and synchronizes it with ‘the cloud’ every time you switch on your
computer or you ask it to do it. According to this practice, we had to upload
two files to Dropbox, and show them with the green ‘checked’ icon, meaning that
has been completely upload and synchronized. Then, we had to share a document
by sending the document's Link by email.
After
this, we log in our dropbox.com account and check that we see the same files
when clicking on our computer Dropbox.
