Word exercise 2

When we have copied the information on the word document, to create two columns we have to select the text and click on page layout, columns and select the number of columns we wanted. In our case we selected two columns.

We had to pay attention on different details that were required for the exercise such as to put a header in each page excepting the first one.  We had to place the number of the page in each one (depending on the page). We also placed a footer at the bottom of each page. We selected a picture of Batman and Robin because we had to add also a picture.

On the third page we had to place a table of content with something related with our topic. At the end we had to answer three questions (asked by the teacher) and everything in the text had to be written in New Times Roman (12) with double-spaced text.

Activity Number 4: Google Drive, Dropbox and Doodl

Google Drive exercise 4A:

For using google drive you need to have a gmail account, after that you have to log on google drive with that account. To upload the files you have to click uopload and select the files from your computer. To create a different view for the page you have to click on view and select the view you want. For selecting the different documents you have to click on the transparent box at the left of the documents and click on it until it appears as a blue tick. To create a new folder you click on the button which puts create and select a new folder. To include documents on it you select the documents and drag them into de folder.

Practical Work 4B: Dropbox:

 Dropbox is a file hosting service operated by Dropbox, Inc. that offers cloud storage, file synchronization, and client software.  The main goal of this practical work is to learn about Dropbox, to access files from your PC, your Tablet, your Smartphone, etc. With Dropbox you can storage files, share files, and have a backup on the cloud.

 First thing you should do is to install Dropbox on your PC (if you are not registered), then you may access through the web. Dropbox keeps a local copy of the storage and synchronizes it with ‘the cloud’ every time you switch on your computer or you ask it to do it. According to this practice, we had to upload two files to Dropbox, and show them with the green ‘checked’ icon, meaning that has been completely upload and synchronized. Then, we had to share a document by sending the document's Link by email.

After this, we log in our dropbox.com account and check that we see the same files when clicking on our computer Dropbox.

Doodle exercise 4c:

This exercise is really simple to complete as, in the web page you have only got to follow the steps they indicate you.

Firstly, you have to choose the title and the ubication and the description.

Then, you have to choose the different days you want the exercise to take place.

Thirdly you have to choose the different times of the day in which this activity could take place.

Finally you have to put your email and doodle will send you the questionnaire and you can send it to your contacts or, you can send it directly to your contact's email.

Then your contacts have to answer to the chart you sent them and, if they can assist the square of the date and the time will appear in green and with a green cross, if, in the other hand they can't assist, the square will appear in a rad color and with a red cross. 

Practical Work 3 -MULTIMEDIA PRESENTATIONS: POWER POINT AND PREZI-

On this third practice we have created two multimedia presentations, one in Power Point and other in Prezi, with the same contents.

1)In the Power Point activity we had to create an archive with six slides, using a template and a proposed model of which we had a description in our Virtual Campus.

The first slide had only a title and a subtitle, in different sizes.

The second slide was an index with the contents (contents that we didn’t use really in the .ppt because it was only an example) and one hofooter (which we didn’t use in the first slide but in all the others).

The third slide had a title and a group of paragraphs and sentences that we used to learn how to create indentations.

The fourth slide had a title, a sentence, 3 boxes with texts inside, and 3 images.

The fifth slide had a table of contents that we made using Excel.

The sixth slide, also the last one, had a diagram or organization chart with five circles, and one button to return to the first slide, with a image of a house on it.

Those are the first and the sixth slides of the example sent by the teacher.

2) In the Prezi activity we had to pass all the contents of our Power Point to a Prezi template, and we choose one with rectangles and a temporal line.

The main question was how to pass .ppt data to Prezi, and what we did was to upload our slides to Prezi and adjust them to the template (we had to delete images and lines of the template).

When it was finished, we edited the order of the presentation to make it logic, following the order we wanted.  And that was all!

Finally, as in all exercises, we past everything to a .zip archive.

So the principal things we learnt from this exercise were:

• ·         How to add boxes with text and images in Power Point
• ·         How to create tables and diagrams, and direct access buttons in Power Point
• ·         How to use Prezi and pass Power Points to it.
• ·         How to edit the path of Prezi.

Windows Activity

Practical Work 1- Windows

The first activity our group carried out, was devoted specifically to file management, data sharing, as well as data compression. This following entry will explain each of the excercises that we did in the activity and what we learned from each of them.

The first excercise we did was about folder and file creation. We created some files, put them into folders and finally compressed some folders along with some screenshots we took of our work.

The second excercise we did was related to data deletion as well as data recovery. To learn about this, we sent some files to the trash bin to delete them , but them recovered them in order to know how to recover accidentally deleted files. We also took screenshots to prove how we did this.

The third excercise we carried out was useful in teaching us how to search for specific files in the computer's hard drive. We searched the files by looking in the local hard drive located in My PC. In addition we had to take a screenshot of the procedure we had to carry out in order to search the files.

The fourth excercise taught us how to customize the aesthetic aspects of windows. This included how to change the backround, how to change the screen saver and other appearance-related tools. In this excercise we had to write a long answer which carefully explained how to change each individual aspect.

The final task that we carried out involved writing out a comparison between Windows XP, Windows 7 and Windows 8.
We were also given the option of using the web to research each of these operating systems. However, we were only able to utilize the websites which were trustworthy.

With all of these tasks, we were able to complete the activity and thus learn more about Windows and its
functions that any Univerity student may find useful.
